At IVeM, we have a long history in Veterinary Dentistry, Veterinary Ophthalmology, and Veterinary Anesthesia.

Our team receives and provides continuous training and actively participates in international and national congresses organized by Veterinary Societies and Working Groups in their specialties, staying at the forefront of canine and feline medicine.

Dentistry Team

Pilar Castelló

Registered member nº 1470 of the Valencia Veterinary College (ICOVV).

Pilar Castelló graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in 2003.

She is accredited by AVEPA in Dentistry and Oral Surgery and holds a PGD from Ifevet Dent.

Pilar has worked in various centers as the head of the veterinary dentistry service, establishing the first exclusive veterinary service for Dentistry and Oral Surgery for small animals in 2009. Through this service, she has collaborated with over 100 veterinary centers in the Valencia Community. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the AVEPA Specialty Group in Dentistry and Oral Surgery (GOVA) and a member of the Spanish Society of Veterinary and Experimental Maxillofacial Dentistry (SEOVE). Pilar is a regular speaker at training and postgraduate courses and has published multiple specialized articles.

Ophthalmology Team

Marcos Izquierdo

Registered member nº 1219 of the Valencia Veterinary College (ICOVV).

Marcos Izquierdo holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza - École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort and a degree in Biology from the University of Valencia.

He is a Diplomate in Veterinary Ophthalmology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in Buenos Aires.

Marcos also possesses the Certificat d’Études Supérieures in Veterinary Ophthalmology from the École Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse and has training in cataract and corneal surgery from the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center in Cáceres.

He is a member of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (SEOVET), the Ophthalmology Working Group of the Spanish Association of Small Animals (GTA-AVEPA), and the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ESVO).

As the founder of IVeM, he is currently responsible for the Ophthalmology service.

María Martínez

Registered member nº 5667 of the Barcelona Veterinary College (ICOVV).

María Martínez graduated in Veterinary Medicine from CEU Cardenal Herrera University in 2011. Since then, she has focused her career on small animal medicine, specifically in the specialty of ophthalmology.

She completed a rotating internship at the CEU Veterinary Clinical Hospital in 2012 and finished a specialized internship in ophthalmology at Ars Veterinaria Hospital in 2020. María has taken a Postgraduate Course in Ocular Surgery and Pathology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Basic Science Course at the University of North Carolina, and several microsurgery courses at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center in Cáceres.

Additionally, she worked as an associate professor at CEU Cardenal Herrera University from 2014 to 2019, balancing her teaching activities with clinical practice and research.

Currently, María Martínez is part of the ophthalmology team at IVeM, alongside Marcos Izquierdo, and continues her training activities for general practitioners through various institutions. She is a member of the Ophthalmology Working Group of the Spanish Association of Small Animal Veterinarians (AVEPA) and the Spanish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialists (SEOVET).

Anesthesia Team

Quique Plaza

Colegiado Nº 1971 del ICOVV de Valencia

Quique Plaza graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Cardenal Herrera CEU University in 2008.

He holds a specialized degree in Anesthesia and Analgesia for Small Animals from the Complutense University of Madrid. Quique continues his education by regularly attending training sessions at reference centers and universities, as well as specialty congresses where he actively participates by presenting scientific communications.

He is an active member of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (SEAAV) and the Anesthesia and Analgesia Specialty Group of the Spanish Association of Small Animal Veterinarians (GAVA-AVEPA).

Accredited in Anesthesia and Analgesia by AVEPA.

Quique is responsible for the anesthesia and analgesia service at IVeM.

Surgical Veterinary Assistant

Anaïs Díaz Navas


She obtained her Veterinary Assistant qualification in 2019-2020 from CIM FORMACIÓN, completing the Veterinary Clinic Assistant (ACV) and Veterinary Technician Assistant (ATV) courses.

Anaïs has spent 13 years in roles primarily focused on customer service and administration. For the past 3 years, she was part of the Reception and Administration team at the multidisciplinary referral hospital AUNA ESPECIALIDADES VETERINARIAS.

Administration

Dunia Fernández


She joined our team at the end of 2023 to handle customer service and administrative tasks.

Throughout her professional life, Dunia has always worked in public-facing roles in the administration sector. However, she has been passionate about caring for and attending to animals since she was a child, which led her to study the veterinary technician assistant course to get closer to them. At IVeM, she has found the perfect place to share her passion with both animals and their owners.
