Palpebral Mass

Eyelid masses are common in older dogs and, although they are usually benign, they can cause discomfort and bleeding if the animal scratches them. In cats, the appearance of masses is rare but carries a higher risk of malignancy. The treatment of choice is early and complete surgery, followed by histopathological examination to determine the nature of the mass and ensure its complete removal.

In cases of large tumors, more complex techniques may be required that involve eyelid reconstruction to ensure both the appearance and functionality of the eyelid.

At IVeM, we are equipped and prepared to perform surgery safely and effectively, offering comprehensive care to ensure your pet’s eye health.
