Diagnostic Tests

Ophthalmic Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a diagnostic technique that allows us to observe specific anatomical structures of the eye through the formation of images using ultrasound waves.

Conventional ophthalmic ultrasound is a non-invasive test where the probe is placed directly on the eyeball. The procedure is performed by applying only anesthetic eye drops and ultrasound gel, and it does not require sedation, as it is painless and well-tolerated by patients.

This technique is primarily used to visualize ocular structures in the posterior segment, such as the posterior capsule of the lens, the vitreous body, the retina, the choroid, and the optic nerve.

Our team of ophthalmologists, supported by the technology available at IVeM, will guide and accompany you from the diagnosis of your eye condition to the best care and treatment tailored to your specific case.
