Diagnostic Tests

OCT

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging diagnostic test that uses near-infrared light to visualize the ocular surface (cornea) and internal ocular structures like the retina and optic nerve in great detail.

OCT is primarily used to assess the depth of corneal issues (such as ulcers, dystrophies, and degenerations) and to study deeper eye diseases related to the retina (like edema, detachments, and hemorrhages) and the optic nerve head (such as optic neuritis and glaucoma).

This is a non-invasive diagnostic technique that does not require contact with the patient's eye, but it often necessitates sedation to ensure the patient's immobility during the test.

At IVeM, we understand that vision is one of the fundamental senses for your furry friend to engage with their little world, you, and their surroundings. For this reason, to care for and preserve their vision, we utilize cutting-edge technology to provide the best ophthalmological assessment.
